You need the specific 2 wire ones for the BMW 2.5TD not the 4 wire type, from memory when I did this, the item number ending 14 is the 4 wire one and the number ending in 12 (this one) is the 2 wire one.
From memory, 4 wire ends 11, 2 wire ends 12...  ...though parts may now have been superseded.

Also not all 2.5TD had ECU Cruise enabled, having said that most did, at least in the UK.
I think all U25DT and X25DT had cruise enabled.  That covers all UK spec 2.5TD engines.  The Y25DT was never available in RHD, and I'm not sure if its enabled or not on that donk.

i have ordered the 9181014 as a trial as this is the more available part, if the connections match ill try it on the road and see what happens  :y

..... and .... IIRC ..... it's a specific diseasal cruise stalk.

would a stalk from a 2.2dti be okay as the 2.5 limits my search slightly  ;D

Pretty sure it has to be compatible with the BMW bits so no  :-\

Pm TB (who had one) or MarkDTM if you need a quick response Sam  :y

after speaking to one of the guys at Vauxhall he has said there are 2 variants listed for the 2.5td can someone advise me which one to go for - he said on the yellow sticker on the stalk it would end BM or BK

BM is still available under part number 9181014
however BK is no longer serviced so would be what stock we could find around the world - part number 9181012

Can anyone advise which one i should be looking at, my logic is that one could be for Manual and one for Auto, but i could be wrong?

Thanks for your concern guys, means a lot, long story short,

Brought the CDX from a guy in Luton who said the car had stood every since his wife reversed into what ever, turns out he had been involved in a car accident with it to which the rear took the impact, however he failed to mention this to me when I brought it and come up with some cock and bill story about how the damage had happened and he seemed so genuine you wouldn't question it.

However me being a complete and utter plank didn't think to hpi check it and I was sorting through my car appears the other day, found every receipt and piece of info to do with my Insignia, but found everything but the Log Book for the Omega, so I assumed I had recieved it and Hers truly had misplaced it so sent a letter to the DVLA requesting another logbook, to which they sent a letter out within 24 hours explaining the vehicle had been involved in an accident and was unfit for the road until proven at a VIC Checking station.

So this has totally ripped up my plans to restore and sell the old girl, because even if I do it'll be worth sod all.

If someone does want to take on the project pm me if not my plan of stripping and scrapping will go forward
