Fixed Tyre Wear
« on: 02 February 2015, 10:53:10 »

Hi OOF

Since posting my issues with tyre wear I have had the suspension examined and was pleased to find all bushes in good order so Alignment was my main problem. I took the advice and replaced all the tyres with brand new one and had a complete 4 wheel alignment done. The car now feels and steers a lot better.
I also checked out the oil leak. Thankfully it is not coming from the Head Gasket or Rocker Covers and is not a serious leak so will fix that as soon as I get the finance.

The only concern I have is that at low speeds when the steering makes a squeaking noise like a belt rubbing on something, but only when turning the steering to the right.
does anybody have any ideas what could cause that. I have had the front suspension checked and it all looks good underneath. Has anybody else experience this problem
any tips would be appreciated.

Well if it sounds like a belt rubbing, that could be Power steering belt us squeaking on a pulley. Either a pulley getting stiff, or, more likely the aux belt wants changing. Often starts on hard lock, mine does it occasionally in damp or dry weather. Glad your car's sorted  :)
