Lucky me just came back from 3 weeks away to find the omega elite battery dead so put it on charge and car started fine couple of days later it didn't have enough charge to turn it over,charged it again test voltage at terminals 12.38v went out for 40 miles yesterday and tested this morning 12.16v so lost a bit.The alarm was on but when i went on hols it wasn't just checked out the powersounder and removed but it didn't go off in my hand as i was expecting and as the top nut was not the tightest i guess someone's been there before,so any thoughts of what next, should i recharge and check volt drop for the next few days or your thoughts would be appreciated!!

This problem started yesterday I opened the car door as normal,as I did all the locks went up and down,then when i came to lock it as i opened the door all other doors locked and when i locked drivers door with key internal light wouldn't go off.I opened car with fob and tried to reset with key in ignition which seemed to work until the alarm went off on its own then back came the problem as before.Any ideas anybody?Thanks

Hi all,well i guess i did something as my posting has been removed.. So I posted an advert for an omega that was on the bay on a T plate and appeared to be a MV6 Estate and a facelift and i was curious as i'd never seen one on a T plate but my posting has been removed or moved to a different section.What happenned?

I'm sure you've all probably seen this already but there is an MV6 ESTATE on the bay for sale http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/112264543183 certainly an interesting thing being on a T plate and facelift,its nothing to do with me but having seen it i'm surprised it hasn't raised a bit of debate.Perhaps now it will and maybe i'll learn something,lowish mileage but seems to have failed every MOT everytime!!

Hi all,Just noticed a strange low buzzing sound when i turn off the ignition,it goes when i take the key out and is not there when i put it back in,only after running car is the whine or buzz there.Seems to be coming from the right hand side any ideas before i have a good look and listen? Also just a quicky does the sunroof dial have a light? My elite does but my cdx doesn't or at least its not working if there is one in their?

Omega General Help / plenum vacuum

Hi all,earlier in the year i changed the oil cooler and when everything was refitted i could here the plastic strip on the plenum sucking air,I took it back off to check that it was sealed but the problem persists. Does it require a new washer where it enters the plenum because thats where the sound is? and anyone have a part number? Have to say that this 2.6 is more livelier than my other and its an estate and the eml light just came on but maybe unrelated 0300 code

Often i see mention of various updates to software i.e gearbox,climate panel as i have no idea if my car has ever received any of these and its a Y reg 2.6 estate are they worth doing and how many are there? Do Vauxhall still carry this service out and would it have been done auto when the car went in for service at dealership in its history.Where could i find this information out?

Hi all,I've been away for almost 3 months and just went to open the omega but the battery is probably flatter than a pancake and the door won't unlock with the key.It turns to the left freely but to the right its tight any ideas?I didn't want to put too much pressure on the key.

I've got to do something to improve the handbrake as it just catches as high as it will go about 8 notches i think.I took the wheels off yesterday and had a look for these star adjusters but i just cant see them and i looked closely but everything in that area looks to be in very good order but the cable needs tightening.So i put the estate up on the ramps and sprayed WD on the heat shield nuts not knowing which ones have to come off to access the adjuster.So can someone please guide me in? I hope its not the front ones as i'm not that thin!!!

Just noticed today a little seepage of oil from 3 or 4 of the bolts do you think its the O rings that need changing? The breathers are all clear or maybe they need the torque checking although i think they may well be original as the car has only done 50000 and i can't see it mentioned in the service history!! Your thoughts and can you but O rings separately?

Hi had a problem with the aerial on my estate with spoiler. The ball on the aerial base i believe is a Prodrive part to get the aerial more vertical to avoid the spoiler anyway i'm trying to find out if the actual mast screwed into the ball aka the ball has an inward thread or a outward thread. My aerial looked like this when i got it and i tried to unscrew the silver top but it just sheered off flush with the ball,i've now tried to drill the ball to remove the thread but no good so far. Anyone got a photo of the ball or info of the threaded part or new Prodrive ball itself?

I ran the car today for the first time since an oil cooler change and multi flushes,so was surprised to see the expansion tank had a dark colour,on checking my lovely pink anti freeze was now an oily brown colour. Is this just the old oil still in the water system loosening itself or something more serious?When to remove and refill with fresh anti freeze or should i go for water only?

Noticed a little bit of rust near the jacking point so the sill cover needs to be removed,the question is how? Do the black plastic clips just pull down?
