Omega Electrical and Audio Help / Elite est aerial problem
« on: 23 June 2016, 22:43:36 »
The estate bee sting aerial was broken so i thought remove and get a replacement, well that was the plan.Anyway pulled the rubber bee part off and there was a silver base which went inside the rubber so i got a spanner out to remove it but instead of unscrewing as i thought, it snapped off down to the top of the ball.I assume its kaput now so i will need a new aerial and the bee sting aerial wasn't that great so what can i use? No phone or gps but there is a spoiler!

Omega General Help / Heating curiosity
« on: 13 June 2016, 09:54:44 »
Just took the old car around the block a mile or so and thought i'll check the air con which has never worked as i never really used it.Anyway to the point lifted the bonnet and front fans not working but i also noted that the heating pipes which pass by the expansion bottle were still cool, the climate control was off on the drive and i set it to LO as i parked up when set to Hi it started to warm up straight away.Apart from the fans working or not working is this correct? Why i ask is that my other Omega has or had a HBV problem so i changed it but with climate control OFF those same heating pipes start to get warm and when set to LO they are still getting hot with time and water is dripping from the evaporator drain pipes.Could it be a problem with the climate control vacuum in some way?

Omega General Help / Leak
« on: 05 June 2016, 21:29:55 »
Well just when you think you are all finished another problem crops up,after finishing cam belt and oil cooler and lots of flushing started car for the first time today and the heating was still on HI so turned it to LO and low and behold a trickle of water came past me to my horror. It appears to be from the HBV by the feel of things, when on HI no water but on LO out it comes so looks like i'll be taking the plenum off again, still i've had plenty of practice. Question is should i start car until water runs then strip down and is it likely to be HBV or one of the pipes but which one that would leak on LO?

« on: 28 May 2016, 20:19:38 »
Help is the word i would use,i've been at it all day on my first change. Were am i at,well followed instructions from dvd and got to first rotation, one thing of note no timing markings on GM belt. So after one rotation timing markings were about 1cm out to the left of center after several turns and adjustments i'm now 2cm out to the left of center. Question of course is how to correct?
