Not sure how true it is because I don't watch the soaps but I'm told that ' Corrie' didn't shy away from the grooming  and  child abuse theme, but in the soap the groomers were all white, so as not to upset anyone who wasn't white.

As I say, not sure how true this is.

It was indeed portrayed like that. Currently, Corrie has a storyline that take up most of its episodes about "refugees".
The characters who are against the "refugees are violent, right wing Nazi extremists. BNP characters, without mentioning any particular organisation. The inference is that they are the only type of characters who could possibly object to uncontrolled mass immigration.
The only other storyline that keeps recurring over the last year or so, is one about climate change & pollution.
One usually meek character smashed up someones van because of the pollution and damage to the planet. This was portrayed as though she had done nothing wrong at all.
Its woke liberal left claptrap written by the educated stupid, who assume the viewers are all uneducated and gullible.
Swmbo makes me look like a moderate Socialist, but she still insists on watching it.

None of this surprised me, the world just gets sillier by the day, this morning they were arguing about fairy tales being racist & sexist yesterday it was a cartoon about a Turkey being saved from the dinner table, I switched over to " Bangers & Cash more up my street.
