Exhaust Back Box Questions
« on: 22 July 2012, 20:01:29 »

Hi
Im going to buy the Eternal Car rear box for my 2.2 petrol as mine has done its job after 4 years  ( Ebay item 190466458829 ) but can anyone tell me what size of clamps will be needed ... i might also get a small and tidy chrome tip as well ... not looking for a big stupid gay looking thing though , so what diameter pipe will the exhaust have and any suggestions for a chrome tip ? Keeping in mind i want to keep the car looking good and not trashy . Maybe something with a twin outlet .
I will search the bay etc but if any one has any hands on experience with tips or pics of some fitted feel free to share   :y

TIA

2.5 & 3.0 from a pre-facelift will need the chrome extenders due to deeper F/L bumper. 2.6 & 3.2, no trim needed but only the 3.2 will have the twin outlet ( and obviously the 3.0 also)

Ideally, but you`d probably get away with the 3.0 with no trim extender

Has anyone actually fitted a 3.2 back box to a 2.2 saloon ?
Every exhaust place i speak to say they are different and wont fit ... One place said the 3.2 one is 10 cm shorter etc which was mentioned on here but i thought that was the 3.0 box .
Might go out to my local Vx service place to see if i can get part numbers or lenghts measurements etc although im fairly sure they wont help , I know which ever one i order will turn out to be the wrong one  ;D

I have a standard 3.2 estate one in the shed you could borrow for sizing?   Need it back though as it will replace the irmscher one on the car when it comes time to sell it.
