Omega Electrical and Audio Help / SC804 Tuner
« on: 25 January 2009, 19:33:37 »
I have one of these without display & a Philips 6 disk changer in my 1995 3.0 Elite & the only light that actually illuminates is the one around the volume control. Is there a way of getting into the radio & changing the rest of the bulbs?

Omega General Help / Trouble Code 25...
« on: 07 August 2010, 15:07:07 »
...from the Anti Theft system.

I've been trying to get the remote central locking working on my 1995 M reg Elite. The car originally had it but I had no remotes given to me when I got the car.

Now I have two new two button remotes & two new transponder chips (yes I know it shouldn't have transponder immobilisor, but it's an ex Vx car) I'm looking to see if anyone can get then programmed in.

Whilst the Tech1 was on the car, the anti theft system blankly refused to accept the remotes & kept saying TC 25 check chart 2.

I have a feeling it's to do with the alarm horn. I believe it's either faulty, disconnected or simply not there anymore. I don't know where it's supposwed to be on an early prefacelift model either.

Any help guys here would be useful as both AndyC & I are both stumped!

Omega General Help / Stats Question
« on: 22 October 2009, 20:51:25 »
Late last year after having the belts & related kit replaced I took the Elite over to an ABS rolling road day to TCS Performance in Essex. It was also covered by Total Vauxhall magazine & I'm in it. (Jan 2009 issue)

I ended up taking the Elite as the Carly GSi wasn't at all well, I had not long owned the car & simply wanted to know what it had in it.

The rolling road was set up in such a way as to give a more realistic result unlike the usual ones that say a 1.2 Z12XE has 200bhp. The results from the Lotus Carltons & the other cars that were there proved this.

The thing that puzzled me was that my 1995 'M' 3.0 Elite was slightly down on power but up on torque. 189bhp & 290lbft to be exact. The operator came up to me after I had practically chewed by finger down to the knuckles & congratulated me on the torque figure.

Would any one know why the car would produce such results when running as standard spec?

The car looking at the history was a Vx car belonging to Lex Vx in Manchester & got transferred down to Luton for 2-3 years before it got sold off. I'm applying to DVLA to try & confirm this.

Ideas anyone?

Omega General Help / Self Levelling Suspension problems
« on: 19 September 2008, 20:02:35 »
I believe the self levelling suspension on my Elite is not working as the rear feels rock hard on speed bumps.

Everything appears to be connected okay as far as I can see & have tried the fuses & still no luck. But then again this is my first Omega.

Is there a way of testing & fault finding the system?

Many Thanks

Jamie

Omega General Help / Projector Headlamp Sealant
« on: 03 December 2008, 23:30:07 »
What sealant have you guys used to seal the lens back onto the housing?

I've been looking around the InterWeb & have come across Silicone RTV Sealant. I've also seen Sikaflex which has also been suggested on another forum.

Newbie Welcome Area / Hi All. Noobie here.
« on: 11 August 2008, 16:37:56 »
Greetings. I've just signed up to OOF. To be honest, I've been looking at the site for quite a while now.

I've been an ABS member for 3 years now & been advised to go join up with the OOF. I live in Mid Bedfordshire & work in London on London Underground as a signals engineer.

I have a 1990 Carly GSi 24v & a 1995 Omega 3.0 Elite. I'll get piccys up a bit later on tonight if I can.

The really strange thing that happened to me was on Sun Aug 3rd when I was up at Lowestoft visiting Africa Alive. My girlfriend had adopted / sponsored the meercats for me for Christmas last year & we were up there checking the place out!

When I parked up in the car park, I did spot another Omega parked up in front of me.  When I had eventually got back to my car, (we were one of the last two cars left in the car park!) Someone had placed an advert card for the OOF under one of my wipers.

I had found the whole thing amusing & ironic as I'm joining up anyway and the Omega had a yellow ABS sticker in the back window which I don't know if the poster had spotted.

Anyway, here I am & looking forward to using the forum.

Don't know whether I'm allowed to post about this.

I'm an ABS member who is also on here as well who co organises this meet. We used to have the club meet at the South Mimms services on the A1M/M25 Junction, but we have moved it up to Welwyn Garden City because of cost.

I've spoken to the ABS about inviting OOF members to the clubs & was informed about other meets e.g. Midlands at Donnington.

So basically We have a club meet every third Sunday of every month at Welwyn and I'd like to invite OOF member to come along if you're interested.

If I haven't offended anyone or broken any OOF forum rules and anyone is interested, I'll post up further details.

Meetings, gatherings, parties etc / ABS North London & Herts meet
« on: 01 November 2009, 21:16:07 »
I'n the Area rep for the ABS regional club meet at WGC which happens every 3rd Sunday of every month.

Used to be held at South Mimms services, but got changed due to motorway services starting to enforce parking charges for any vehicle staying over two hours.

The new location is at a bikers' cafe called Predator Motorsport.

The website for Predator is here. Webby link clicky thing

Their address is:
Predator Motorsport
9 South Mundells
(off Mundells one way system)
Welwyn Garden City,
Hertfordshire, AL7 1EP
United Kingdom

Phone: + 44 (0) 1707 334050 or 334090
Fax: + 44 (0) 1707 339009

The page on their website with a map of where they are can be found here

IF YOU PLAN ON USING A SAT NAV - The only thing I can say is mine took me off the turning on the one way roundabout before the estate that Predator is on (and made me look a bit silly!  ) so just be aware.

Plenty of parking space outside to stand & chat / awe at other cars....

On a second note....the other good thing about Predator is they do unbiased MOTs as they dont do repairs. :)

General Discussion Area / DSLR Question
« on: 02 December 2008, 18:21:18 »
Now I've seen the Photo Competition, it's got me thinking.

I've been saving up for a DSLR & my father has a Nikon D50 which I quite like. I'm preferably after a Canon rather than a Nikon but I'm led to believe that there isn't that much difference between the two nowadays.

The company I work for give out vouchers as bonuses which I can change for vouchers for up to 90 different shops.

At the moment I currently have £210 worth of vouchers to change & I'm hoping to use them to offset a huge chunk off the retail price.

Problem is, I'm still trying to decide which manufacturer & camera to go for.

What's your opinions on the range of DSLRs?
