I recently had a problem of losing about 1/2 a pint a day couldn't find a leak anywhere ,...  also noticed the system was running a lot "cooler" than normal ...

Solution to both .. new header tank cap ... it was "seeping"pressure so preventing normal temp and allowing high evaporation.

Cost :   £14.17 inc VAT .. :)

before rushing out and buying one .. in case its not that ..

run the car to "normal" temperature.. switch off and VERY CAREFULLY undo the header tank cap ... you should hear a hiss as the pressure is released

WARNING >>> YOU MAY GET HOT WATER /STEAM SO TAKE CARE, USE A CLOTH OR GLOVES

If you get significant pressure release then its probably something else .. :(

BE CAREFUL
