White bits are the cases from the original GM switches. Black are the Farnell bits

Which look like pins and no holes, now check their website data sheet tech.drawing, which clearly shows holes in lugs!

We are talking about the two holes on the black one and the fact that the VX one has the 2 locating pins on each side of the switch case are we.

I'm talking about the metal connecting lugs or pins, 3 x off, which require soldering  in place. :y

I think we're confusing the 3 connecting pins on the bottom with the 2 mounting holes on the side, which are lugs rather than holes on the originals.

I've never found replacements with lugs, by the way. I find they are adequately secured by the solder joints, though.Well, none have failed yet. ;)

I suppose it you want to be fussy a bit of plastic rod superglued through the holes would give you the lugs back but as Kev says they seem to work fine without.

Its not the rods its the connections that fit on the PCB

I`m in Leeds if you want me to get you some  :y

Thanks very much for the offer Gav, however I'm going to get the Farnell ones from Moggy who can order them direct. An RS one I fitted last year has failed. :y

As usual OOF comes up trumps, thanks to all for your offers of help. :y :y :y
