End of my Omega....
« on: 31 October 2006, 20:32:36 »

Yes, Thats right.

Its looking like the end is nigh for my Omega. A 1996 2.5 V6 CD.

I reversed her into a tree. Been using the car park for years, never seen the tree. There is a lamp post as you turn in, and there are always bits of car around it, and its held together with jubilee clips, but I never noticed the tree. Well, it noticed my f%$@ing car!!!

I think it is clearly a total loss, but depending on what the insurance say, then I may try and retain the vehicle and will break it.

It has Cruise, Climate, Rear Blind, Self Dipping mirror.

Gearbox is good, but the engine has a tapping sound. Cloth interior.

Yeah, kinda gutted.

But to be honest was looking at getting another car anyway. Was planning on changing the wishones, and doing the cambelt and then selling.

Guess that stuffed that idea eh?

Boot lid, rear bumper and light? If you could get the right coloured boot lid from scrappy would be worth doing

The interior trim on the boot is shoved forward, and the spare wheel cover had been pushed back.

The boot no longer closes, the metal clip on the car (not the catch on the lid) doesn't line up. The clip on the lid misses by about 1/2" toward the rear of the car.

One option is to push the rear panel out and fit a new boot lid and bumper....
