I had the same issue eith my 2.6 recently
all the other functions of the binnacle worked ,temp and fuel and all warning lights
I replaced the binnacle and all has been well for a month or so
BEWARE there are various different part numbers for different spec, age, engine ,LHD or RHD etc and you need to match what is fitted  ;)

Do the fuel gauge and engine temperature gauge work. If not, then check Fuse F15, and if it is blown take a read of this : http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/index.php?topic=145833.0

If the fuel gauge still works then almost certainly not F15.

Yup. Been working for over a month now with no more blown fuses. Culprit seems to have been either the drivers or passengers front heated seats. Have unplugged both.

Try giving it a firm push back into the dash before trying anything else. They often unseat them selves and just need helping back where they should be.

Typically i went out this mornig to move the car and they were both working although this has happened before,i thought it might have something to do with the steering lock/ignition switch as when they are not working the radio does not turn off when the key is removed and
the car alarm does not activate. All other systems/warning lights/guages are working. Thanks for replies everyone.

Mine was intermittent for a while ,and got worse and worse
i tried cleaning the contacts and re-seating it ,no joy
a replacement binnacle sorted it

I had this problem intermittently. They would work when I first drove off but then fail again after the ignition had been switched on and off.
I used the Tomtom as a speedometer to make it legal to drive. Then I changed the battery as it was starting to fail and they have worked perfectly since. I wonder if the old battery voltage was a little too low.
