I believe EE are only doing it for "new" customers (which will likely include existing customers taking out a new contract).

The others will follow quickly, and will soon do it for all customers somehow.  Roaming costs the mobile companies a bloody fortune, and only did it because it became EU law.


But, remember, its what "we" wanted.

Yup we did! 

Instead of sitting around whinging, take action and switch to Three, who as said have free roaming to 70 destinations worldwide. 

As the other companies lose market share they might have a rethink, and the more market share that Three hoover up the less likely they are to change their policy.   

Personally though, I think you have to be a pork pie short of a picnic to go abroad for a holiday at the moment anyway, particularly with more lockdowns looming on the horizon.

Common sense would suggest all countries pull up the drawbridge and limit to a degree incoming new variants. Set against that the need, desire to travel and Grant Shapps has a headache. Spains infection rate is 436 per 100k , France is high. We have a ferry booked for mid Sept . If we go could we get back without isolations and tests on the way? Cant and dont want to book a ferry for the return across Biscay. We have spent enough on moving this booking originally made more than two years ago. Would like to see friends and family. Got two friends who have just had heart attacks. One still in hospital. I suppose not being able to easily travel is a downside of living in “ paradise”

You can't complain about the possibility of not being able to transit French France on the one hand whilst refusing to take a reasonable, readily available, direct option.

Brittany Ferries do not have many cabins where a dog is allowed. They sell out very quickly. You could raise a family in the time it takes to do searching on their poorly designed website. If only you could search on : dog friendly cabin, England ( any port) , Spain ( any port) month. Show availability.

Then if we secured one, they have a habit now of consolidating, cancelling or moving from Portsmouth to Plymouth.

Then there is the uncertainty once there of what date we could return on. Not a problem for a channel crossing and driving overland.

Biscay crossing in Autumn could be rough passage.

I suspected that was where you were going... Either they don't have enough capacity, or too many people are running around willy nilly. And every single person thinks that they are circumstatially the exception. But if your choice is travelling direct or not travelling, then whilst you wouldn't choose to cross the Bay of Biscay in late autumn, it might be your only option.

But on the one hand people are insisting on wearing masks indoors at home whilst others are merrily swanning around the country.
