Not a "sports" car as such but a C70 T5 will get down the road well enough.Handling is a bit "floaty" but can be tightened up ample room inside although boot is a bit compromised.

F33 430d bmw, hard top to convertible in a few seconds, and reasonably sporty and economical. Plus I recall TB saying how cool I looked whenever he see me in mine.  :y  8)

I think that’s what he said anyway.  ::) ;D

Yup ;)

The criteria seems to be a posh convertible for posing in. May as well do it with some class...

An E-class?? That's classy in the same way that a Vauxhall's Merit trim level deserves a badge.

I went coupe rather than convertible (having driven both lots). Very much love it and use it, don't regret the purchase at all

Do you ever wish that you'd kept your mouth shut and not said anything?  ::)

However, various questions arose and what leaped out at me was the fact that I don't actually drive much. Sometimes a week or even more go by and I don't get into the car. We have two cars. I drive mine now and again just to give it a run, I don't actually go anywhere.

Shopping? I walk
Pub or out for a meal? I walk
Bits & pieces? Walk
Stuff I can't get locally? Online & home delivery

I still love the idea of a sports car, but it would be a toy. I don't do my own repairs or tinkering, so that's out. Not interested in pulling or competing with boy racers. Not bothered about top speeds and 0-60 figures, my XC70 is enough for me. Posing? Who to? So, just because . . .

I've just talked myself out of the whole idea. Everybody's input is greatly appreciated.

BUT, if I saw a cheap Crossfire, I may well still just buy it, just for the hell of it    ;D

All of which is perfectly understandable :).

I'm reading through that, and kinda thinking that you probably don't want a "sports car" (ie, sporty/fast/woman magnet) but actually fancy a specific car?  In which case, go for it, its what you want, not a list of other people's personal desires.
