Outside of the box...

Carlton rear subframe and a Monaro diff...

Ought to be a few more places overhauling diffs for the Pontiac GTO*

*aka Monaro ;)

I'm not sure but wouldn't the ratios be all off to match a 6-speed rather than a 5-speed?

I'm not sure but wouldn't the ratios be all off to match a 6-speed rather than a 5-speed?
Not necessarily as 4th is normally the 1:1 gear and sixth might be the same as an Omegas fifth if the Aussie has a closer spaced box.

The V8 only really needs second and fifth :D

Oh yes. An acquaintance has something LS1 powered and he drove it around for months with only 3rd and 6th... :D
