it's all about the right foot  ;)

in the case of my ML, the weight, lack of aerodynamics & perm 4x4 hammers the mpg too  ;D

Nowt lazy about 2 pedals  ;)

It does hammer the em pee gees though.  ;)
Don't think it does really on newer motors with 8+ speed autos...

My XE certainly does more cog swapping than I cba to, and I like a bit of driver involvement. ;) TC lockup is practically always engaged too, unless hammering it.

Agreed, the 8 speed ZF in my 530D seems to do a good job and the MPG is plenty acceptable to me.
