The new stupid cash point limit at my bank needed £500 would only let me have £250 so had to return home & use wifeys card for another £250 .

I'm with Barclays, Mick, they will let you withdraw £500 a day. Unless you mean it was a limit imposed by the ATM?

I'm with Nationwide Steve, I'm sure I've taken £500 out previously but could be the ATM limit at the BP garage I was at, got some trees coming down tomorrow so promised the guy it would be a cash payment .

Not as much as it used to be.  The charges for paying in cash into business accounts is often approaching that of card payments, that don't need you to bugger off down the bank.

Obviously, if the supplier of the bits or services is trying to defraud HMRC, a small amount of cash in the back pocket from trusted customers can result in 20% being shared between the business owner and customer....

I've got to renew a club membership. They've recently decided to do it via the website, and it's utterly atrocious. I'll be joining the queue to give the secretary £15cash at the next meeting. And I'll be in the same queue at the AGM.

I had to sort my sister's vandalised car in the week, and Autoglass' website booking is somehow even worse than dealing with them over the phone. So is completing their questionnaire. Once I got the car to the fitter, their service was as good as I've always had.

We need to get a blue badge for my Dad. Mum's was acquired by going into the hub, filling in a form, showing the relevant documents and paying the £15 and it arrived in the post a couple of days later. Now you're encouraged to use the website. And it's oppsing terrible, long winded, requires loads of personal information and scanned documents, and will take at least 14days. Not happening. I'll be having a rant over the counter in the week.

Why we as put up with this contemptible attitude is beyond me. It's worse than being a customer at a Porsche dealership.

And if I have to use a website to discover which ward they've moved Mum to once she's out of intensive care, they'll be sending an ambulance to me.

14 days to get a blue badge?

Be thankful you're not in West Sussex... Forms went in originally a month before it expired in October... Took three goes to submit all the extra hoops and still waiting.

Bus pass was almost as bad once the DVLA got involved... Licence medically surrendered 15 years ago so opps alone knows what their issue suddenly was :-X still that only took 8 weeks  :-X

I don't understand why such things can't simply be renewed along the lines of: Has anything changed? No? Here's your renewed pass/badge.

It won't be long before the fridge is connected to the internet....

Yes, I know you can already get them. But seriously, why would you? What possible benefit is there when they can't make one with a reliable light?

What's next, the iron reporting back to Russell Hobbs that it's depressed, bored, lonely, covered in itchy dust and hasn't seen a pair of knickers in months?
