.....over immigration. A conservative minister on Sophie Ridge this morning saying that anyone who enters the country illegally with be refused asylum. After that interview a Labour shadow cabinet member, Jonathan Ashworth, was asked if he agreed with policy. He squirmed and said he hadn't seen the draft legislation.
It's Brexit all over again. Labour can't agree with the policy, it would mean a total U turn. But they know, come the general election early next year, voters might just turn out in their droves to support such a policy.

They might...............if the Tories have actually implemented it and its working.
This is highly unlikely imo, because they will all go to the ECHR who will over rule the UK Govt.
The only way to take back full control is to leave the jurisdiction of the ECHR, but they dont have the balls to do it.
The ECHR was a great idea, supported by Churchill, after WW2, set up to protect real refugees and prevent the kind of inhumane treatment people suffered during the war.
Like everything else its original purpose has been perverted to a ludicrous degree, and it is now just another tool for the " liberal" left to impose their agenda on everyone, everywhere.

Sounds good in isolation but......

Deciding if they are genuine or not will take months, possibly years.

Even if they are told to leave they will either ignore it, or go off grid.

The reality is that once they are here they will stay regardless of how genuine they are.

They need to be stopped from reaching our shores in the first instance but that will never happen.

There is a backlog of over 160,000 who need to be processed. Suella wants to see this number go down.

There will be a strong temptation by the 'powers that be' to wave people through in order to make the numbers more appealing to the public.

Less checks are likely, not more.

For some reason ,no one is manning the "pill boxes" and machine gun nests to fire on anyone crossing the "moat"

Yes our ancestors would have either killed these invaders without a second thought, or put them into slavery. 

Perhaps they should be put to work in the fields to earn their keep? 

It would reduce the 'pull factor' as well, and the lefties would go into meltdown. So win win!

While the media have focused on Gary Lineker over the weekend the Government have quietly brokered a deal for HSBC to buy the UK arm of Silicone Valley Bank  which means about 3000 UK businesses won't face the disruption of their bank going under. 

Meanwhile Rishi is in San Diego to sign the AUKUS submarine deal with Australia and America.  If reports are correct, the Aussies will build UK designed subs in Adelaide and this can only be good for UK PLC.
