Mothers decreasing mobility means that she struggles getting in and out of the Barge so need to expedite getting something slightly higher. On a limited budget.

When my parents were able to shuffle along, getting them in to my car was always a problem. We can't visualise why they can't bend their back and duck their head to get in to the seat, although I'm getting that way a bit myself.
Then we have to swing their legs in, which can also be a problem.
That problem was eased massively when my Mrs wanted the BMW F33 convertible that we had for a while. I simply opened the roof, flicked the front seats forward (they move forward and return on their own electrically so no effort involved) and my parents walked upright into the car. All they had to do then was turn and sit down and I'd then close the roof. They found it so easy like this, although not so good for me if it was raining. Getting out was quite simple as well as they always had something to hold on to. I did get some funny looks opening the roof when it was raining but I think people understand when they saw the oldies getting in or out.
This is not a suggestion by the way Al as the budget doesn't suit, it's merely our findings of another use for a convertible.
