Thats pretty good for a car like that.  :y

Yes I was more than pleased with it does exactly as it says in the owners manual 31mpg on a run , 25mpg running around, & 22mpg when towing thanks to a very comprehensive service history no doubt + it sounds fantastic 😎

Washed off a load of blackberry flavoured pterodactyl poo that had appeared on the bonnet...

Which was nice.

You could actually smell it, and no evidence of landfill remnants  ;D

As I see it here, Blackberries are one of the most wasted fruits😟

When I was a kid I used to pick them and sell them around the houses, made a fortune for those days.

..........
24.7mpg.  Oops.  Fuel computer read 29.9mpg, but we know Jag fuel computers are as honest as a cheap watch.

You must drive like a complete animal.   ;D

My E92 335d, whilst a few kg's lighter, used to run mid to low 30's with a mix of around town and spirited driving and 48mpg on a run. Even an early hours cannonball run down the M5 and A30 one morning didn't see it get that low, and there were a few times that I hit the limiter did 70mph for a fair few miles.  ::)  This was based on what it cost to refill as well as the onboard info.

Agreed. A 3.0l auto Omega estate does that in mixed use. Almost 30 fully loaded on French motorways. Hell, my 525 manual estate was averaged low 20s over the 7 years I had it - desperately low gearing did it no favours.

If I had to run a diesel, it would need to break 40mpg all the time to be worth the downsides.

My 3.2 mv6 auto estate does 21mpg on petrol if it didn’t have LPG too, someone else would own it. (Mind you I have a soft spot for it)👍

400 miles. About 2/3rds of a tank. Thats probably nearer where it should be mpg wise.

New job means the milk float needs to go back, as it was never mine. The job's big step up for me, so I'm not signing up to anything monthly payments until I know I'm going to hang on to it for the long term  ;D

I'm tempted to get a 3.0v6 S-type manual to knock about in for a bit. In the medium term I want to refit the kit car with more modern internals, so at that point the S-type could be stripped for engine, box, clutch, brakes etc. I recon I could be doing up to 20k per year, but most of it on the company's 45p/20p per mile, so diesel isn't required.  8)

Either that or he follows the Jag's woeful sat nav, which will only send you down roads if they have grass growing up the middle. Especially if they happen to run parallel and about 100m away from a fast A road that's going to the same place.  ::)
