Changed the water pump on the 2.2 and for the life of me cannot get the cambelt back on. I have done this in the past without any problem but it's driving me crazy this time. is there an easybwaybto get this back on.

Had the same problems a few weeks back. Got a supply of 3mm drills and started but not putting to much pressure on it. It will eventually go through. Then increase the size of the drill.

Fuel tank ventilation valve still cannot clear 0443 fault code as I cannot find the valve anyone help. it's on my 2.2 is it under the underneath the trunking on the left hand side. Only lifted it a little but could not see anything.
Remove the front right hand wheel arch liner and you'll see the vapour catch tank :y follow the plumbing from there into the engine bay, it's a 10mm pipe iirc, which goes to an electrically controlled valve and then to the inlet manifold/breathers. This valve is what you're looking for :y

Have you the new one yet? Would give you an idea of what you're looking for :-\

Cheers no got one hey to compare.

The error code (0443) is the  Fuel Tank Ventilation Valve, I bet they have either broken it or forgot to reconnect the electrical connector, it lives at the rear of the cylinder head.

anyone any pics of it. thumbling about the back but unable to find anything loose.

that tube should be down the back of the engine! Every one I have seen that's had a head gasket done has had this pipe moved to the side like yours  ::)
Never seen one that high before though lol

Was down the back of the block as I said in earlier post just brought it up to take pic.  Didn't think breather tube was that long.

It possible is I just brought it up to take picture. But cannot remember it being this long. think a will need to get under the car to see if it is coming from the auto box or if anyone else has any idea. save me climbing under the car. it's just the error code that's annoying.

« on: 24 February 2014, 15:15:29 »
I replaced mine a couple of year ago with an after market and it has been fine. no excess noise. only problem I remember was that one or 2 studs snapped and were murder to replace.

Any pics?

The only pipe that should have an open end is the gearbox breather.  :y
