When I did my autodim I found that the plug in this picture has the correct wires. +ve -ve and reverse switch. Easily double checked with a meter

think this is the sensor wire

Using the picture at the bottom of the guide I located the wires in the mirror, removed both plugs and soldered the wires to each other. Works a treat dims and disables when in reverse.

My EGR gasket was wrong as well, got one from VX £3.99, i think, had to go to Oldham Citroen Pentagon,  ??? never figured out why.

Make sure they are sourcing the EGR manifold gasket and not the EGR gasket, had 2 wasted trips because of that  :(

If you can access it, get some big grips on it and gently rotate it to break the seal :y

That's just what I did.
Once on another really stuck hose I squirted a bit of WD40 on the end, left it a while, then grippers shifted it. For future ref

Looks like a great holiday!  :y :y :y

It was ta  :y

Nice to hear it was a trouble free trip, lovely pics.

Ta  :y

Excellent. I hope you recruited some of the Omega drivers (and the Saudi fellow) to the forum.

European Tour?  Did you leave France.. ???

Didn't see any drivers, would have though.
Left UK, toured France, returned to UK went to Portsmouth (Victory, Mary Rose, etc), Winchester, Stonehenge then home so yes a European Tour (technically  :-X )

Looking good  :y

I do love a good road trip, these old barges really can hack them even at this age.  :)

Ta  :y, so do I  :D, 5th time in this one, 3 times in the previous one and currently planning next years  ::)

....
Museum behind you on other side of road to your car, cemetery behind you, over the main road?

(I vaguely remember walking down that road during the 70th anniversary of the D-Day landings, only it looks so much different when its not as busy ;D)

Correct a mundo  :y 8)

This years tour of Europe in the MIG took in Gassin (near St Tropez), La Rochelle, Caen, Bayeux, the Normandy beaches, museums, monuments and cemeteries, over 27 days

From the computer
2555 miles
26 Mpg average
Just over 65 hours of driving
47 MPH average

And the only problem was the throttle position error which I set off with

Not bad for a 12 yr old car

A few pics

My reply got buried there. Please confirm that the EGR plate is attached to both head and block. If so I shall have to detach it to remove the head.

The plate is attached to the head by just two screws, either side about level with the cams, you do not have to remove the plate

The clip (spade type connector) is on a single wire that is in the same loom as the plug connector, you can find it by feel. It is just pushed (slid) onto the round connector next to the plus socket (left of it in this picture)

Also just remembered that the Lamba connection loom is attached to the plate just at the unattached end of the hose in the picture, As you can see I just cut the cable tie with a knife and by feel

Thanks Phil. I will remove it tomorrow and see if that allows me to lift the head off. AS you see I have got the cams off and I think everything in the way.

Dont forget the electrical connections, plug and clip, center of the EGR manifold and the screws holding the cam belt back plate to head, i did  ::)

Sorry not been on all week Hope this helps. Phil

SWMBO says Jonny's 2002 2.2 is too good to scrap, I must change the head gasket. I am following SIR Philbutt's excellent guide. I have detached the exhaust manifold, am now facing the inlet manifold, which bristles with wires and pipes. There is a harness attached to it too. I can see 8 nuts and a vacuum hose attaching it to the head. SIR Phillbut mentions a 13mm nut right at the bottom rear, not found that one yet.
My question is  if I undo all the nuts shall I be able to pull the manifold, harness with all the wires cables and pipes attached, away from the head?
I have removed the alternator brackets and the coolant reservoir.

The nut is connecting a bracket to hole bottom left of the picture, sorry about quality

I have unplugged the EGR. SIR Phillbut says it is hard to remove, so he disconnected the coolant hose instead, then the EGR came off with the head. I am not sure which hose he disconnected. Is it the hose at the back of engine in this photograph?

Johnny Seven - lost almost all of the the projectiles in the first week  >:(

There's enough room to move out of way and relatively easy to remove/refit from/to head, don't have to remove fuel & water and vac connections on inlet and the gaskets are normally in the kit, so why not  ::)

If going abroad, forget it.  If they want to gaytube, stream music/film, facetime etc, forget it.

It may take some convincing, but they will survive without arsebook and snapchat for a couple of weeks, honest ;)

(says the bloke typing away on his netbook, laying on the sofa under an AC unit, as its too bloody hot outside  :-[)
Taking away social media from a youff, especially a female is like the end of the world, its funny to watch, and by day 3 they normally calm down, saying things like 'yea but' and 'watever' to them doesn't help, makes my day. O and don't forget 'i hate you' :D

I was round my Mate's the other day and his pre-teenage daughter had a strop about something or other trivial, ran upstairs and slammed her bedroom door!  ::)

My mate followed her up with a screwdriver, took the door off and told her he'd put it back when she learnt how to close doors sensibly!  ;D

Like this one, defo going to use this when the situation eventually arises

Sounds like cam belt aligned wrong to me. Pistons will hit valves if this is so, and their problem to resolve as ok before

Would have to skim a lot off head to cause this, and of course their fault not yours, info on skim limits generally available to people that do this type of work

Good find that  :y

One thing I noticed was the foot control for main beam, always a better idea those. Only ever had one car with that and found it very usable,  even on a manual
