i could be wrong but i assume yours is one of the larger early fuel pump relays.( different to the one on your other senator ?) they are a bit harder to source but you could try running a live to the fuel pump to check it. To eliminate relay as faulty or not.on the later cars the relay also powers the injectors with a perm live ,not sure about the early ones.

You have definately fitted the pulley spacer washers behind the correct pulleys havnt you. The lower pulley (central or eccentric type )has a thicker spacer than the top eccentric pulley

Omega General Help / Re: Brake problem
« on: 29 August 2017, 16:22:48 »
With the brakes being dual circuit if the master cylinder was worn on only one circuit the pedal would slowly sink as the piston moved in the bore .until it came up to the balance point where it is acting only on the other circuit. Then it would go solid and not sink any more. Same idea as if a front or rear brake circiut gave up due to a leak .the brakes would still work on the other circuit albeit sith a greater pedal travel but they would still work.'switching off' each line using the abs valves is a similar test to clamping the hoses.exept clamping the hoses dismisses any abs valve block leakage if there was any. Unlikely ?

It still sounds like the master cylinder to me .if there are no other leaks and the fluid does not go down.( you could clamp the front hoses first and then do the rears if you have only two clamps !) to do the previous check. The master cylinder can fail in two ways.either fluid leaks out of the back and into the servo but this would cause the level to drop or it can leak internally.ie the seals leak fluid past themselves in the bore. Hence the piston will slowly move though the fluid / bore but none will actually be lost anywhere.

If you hose clamp both front hoses and both rear hoses and try the same pedal test this will confirm master cylinder is faulty. Providing of course that there are no leaks from any unions or pipes or from the abs block.the fact that the pedal creeps down with servo assistance is probably only because it is easier to press.if it doesnt creep any more now you can release each hose clamp seperately to find a faulty corner if req

Its usefull when they do have the calibration / offset feature as the temperature the thermostat may be seeing by where it is placed may not be the temperature that you are actually sitting in at a different part of the room.it can even be affected by whether its placed on a "cold" outide wall or an internal wall.

Some but i would imagine not all can be calibrated .i have just had a quick search around for you but cannot find wther they can or not. As an above comment says the salus may not have that feature. If you go on the salus website they should be able to tell you but it looks like you need to register for assistance. ,!,

Hi steve .the retorqueing is only if you fitted earlier bolts and torqued up but not angle tightened. They say usually after 500 mile .dont actually undo the bolts by any appreciable amount.just enough to"break" the bond then re torque each one to 50 lbs .in sequence .then do each one to 74lbs ( i think. I havnt got my book here ! )the two front 6mm allen bolts may take a nip up too!.
