Title: Headlamp bulb
Post by: Paddy Flannery on 13 November 2014, 22:53:27
She keeps blowing her nearside headlamp bulb. Usually lasts about a year but only 2 weeks since last replacement and it's gone again on way home from work. Any ideas please ?

Not replaced any other bulbs since I got her in 2004.

Shit bulbs, poor grounding or vibration.

Worth following Kevin Woods charging guide as well, just in case your alternator output is a bit hot

The lamp itself would be my first suspicion as well based on recent experience of a friend's E92 after he bought 4 of them from Halfrauds. 3 of them blew within seconds of being fitted and (after unnecessary fault finding) they were replaced with lamps bought from Euro Car Parts and worked just fine.

The G E bulbs from Halfords are ok and to date, in various cars are lasting. You do need a trade card thou as it brings them down to a reasonable price.(£6.99)

Lucas bulbs are pants.
