Omega General Help / Codes 0130 and 0150
« on: 22 June 2022, 16:20:30 »
So, far away from home, Y26SE auto, engine light on. Pedal trick gave 0130 and 0150. Code reader at home. Runs and drives perfectly. Just happened during my way here. What's this? How can Bank 1 and Bank 2 sensors fail simultaneously? ECU Failure? Please help.

Omega General Help / Re: ET
« on: 16 May 2022, 14:07:17 »
Thanks for all info, so 7J16, et39, 5*110, center boring 60.1, actually I need new rims for my summer tires. My old thread below, whole car vibrating, I swapped now winter rims to summer tires and the vibrating disappeared. Winter tires with winter rims also ok, no vibrating. So original rims, perhaps just one of them have a problem. Could it be center hole problem? Found some rims 7J16 etc. but et 35 is it OK? Can you recommend any rims which are good for this heavy car. Market is full of possibilities.

Yes, not a very sophisticated construction, less than 100 000 km behind and 12 years old car. Should last longer. Happy to have AR-25 after Y26SE in Omega...

Fluid level ok. Maybe I need some terminology help to make this clear. The problem is that clutch stays "open" so car doesn't move althouh gear on and engine running. Perhaps right word is that it is disengaged all the time when sticking. It should be engaged to be able to drive. So not a fluid level problem. Pedal  pivot ok as well.

That's true dave the builder. But there is a bleeding nipple just above the slave tube going thrue the "bell". If pedal in sticking mode and I open the nipple and if clutch is then engaged then master is sticking. If not slave sticking. I could check when one front corner up and rotating the wheel when gear on...

Car is at home now. Interesting clutch pedal: when pressing slowly it can be sticky and heavy (not every time) when pressed down and when on the floor can stay there even foot taken away for a while and then comes back up suddendly. You can even put any gear on when engine runnig and car does not move. So master or slave sticking. Better to take gear box away and change this stupid part, combined slave and pressure bearing. When pedal up you can drive normally. No slip. It was interesting to drive 100km without touching it just for sure. But here I am. Any ideas?

Thanks for all comments, sitting now in bus 100km to take the car home if clutch engages and thus do not slip. Difficult to understand what happeen. Perhaps clutc sylinder/pressure bearing gone. I report if I can drive.

Hello all

Daughter phoned, out Astra have some kind of sticking problem in clutch pedal. I can tell only what she told, (you know what this means). However, she can start the engine and put gear on but it is difficult to get pedal up back. When it is back up the car moves and when switching to 2nd gear it works but hard to press pedal and difficult to get it back up. What's this all about...

Hello

Learned here that head gasket does not fail in Y26SE. I get coolant dripping above this (V6) oil filter. Perhaps it is coming somewhere else but where, colleague of me told that behind the engine there are many things that can be the cause.  It is not HBV. Is there any other potential places to look for? I do not have pressure tester. Can you recommend any from ebay. Several possibilities available so tips are welcome.

You're not going to use a pressure tester very much, so your actual requirements are minimal. The ones on Ebay are basically the same, so buy one with a decent delivery time at a price you like.

Head gasket failure on a 2.6 is entirely possible, but the water leak you describe is much more likely to have other causes as outlined by DG. This is a good thing, because fixing any, or all, of them is much easier and cheaper than replacing the head gaskets.

I agree, anything else than gasket, but very difficult to find. It is minor leakage. I can see this when engine is hot and thus high pressure in the system, only a couple of drops during filter change. When coolant level drops slightly under minimum level I believe that the leakage decrease, strange. I would say <1 dl/month. Idea was to pressurize when cold and try to see something when plenum off. Last time I changed thermostat I did not see any marks of leakage inside the V. And difficult to understand how the coolant can go to the exhaust side of the engine from center of V.

Sure, thanks but does those leak like it came between cylinder and head. It is like head gasket leakage but coming perhaps from back. The area between head and cylinder is wet above oil filter at least.
