well it seems like at some point the aux belt had shredded, i took the cam cover off and there was remnants of a belt sitting on the water pump, also some behind the pulley and rapped around the water pump shaft, the cam belt is intact but has loads of splits, on the passenger side bank the exhaust cam is 2 teeth out and the inlet is 1 tooth out, didnt get time to take the head off so will be doing that tomorrow, i will be putting a new water pump on it just in case, also a new cam belt kit, and rocker cover gaskets as they r leaking too, so not too bad really, have got a few other things to sort like the rear blind doesnt work, it just clicks, on the cd player the flap where the cartridge goes doesnt open, a couple of buttons on the air con are worn out too, so all in all i still think i got a good car from a great price.... ;D

i think i will keep her, the money would come in handy but ive wanted a good well spec'd up one for ages, i used to have carltons years ago and loved them, there isnt alot of difference between these underneath it all, all the suspension kit off my old F plate GSI fitted my brothers old 94 Omega CDX, the wheels on the new one i had on my Carlton, they looked good on them but sadly i dont have ant pic's of it..

we have clocked a 14.60 but that was pulling away in 2nd gear and getting loads of wheel spin off the line, i have a new axle with lsd waiting in the garage but it mite wait abit longer now as i have the Elite to sort and money is tight as im out of work, we have alot more in the engine to come yet, the gas is waiting to be used but not until i get the carb running rite, the engine is new i built it last year, it started off with me just wanting to put a new cam in it and well now the only thing off the old engine is the alternator!!   ;D

Hi all, i just thought i would share some info on my new car, i had a 98 2.0 16v auto which i bought for £300 a year ago with a new mot, it has been very reliable in the 10k ive done in it, all i spent on it was the usual stuff like all the filters, cam belt, new drop links and handbrake cable, but i was offered a 2001 2,6 Elite with engine problems so the old girl had to go, i put the car outside the house for £295 and sold it the same day! 3 people looked at it in the first 3 hours and the third gave me a deposit, he picked it up today after the new mot, so then onto the new toy, it has 79k on the clock with full history, tax'd and tested, 2 new front tyres(£200) 5 miles old! the only problem is there is a very bad top end knock from the n/s head, so its off with the head to find out what it is, the car still runs but is quite noisy, i will keep u updated as we go along, her r some pictures of it...oh yes and the best bit is i only paid £100 fir it

I don't think that's a VX4/90.  They had a cheese-cutter grill like the Senator.  I'd say it was a bog-standard Victor - emp :Dhasis on the 'was'.

it's a FD VX4/90 Victor, the later FE had the egg box grill like the Senator, the car is amazing u really need to see it in the flesh, he takes it to Canada for the world street car finals too.... :y

i think the fastest he has been up the 1/4 mile is 7.41 at about 197mph!! he also clocked 220mph at bruntingthorpe!!   :y

I just wanted to comment on how my Omega did in the snow, i had to drive to Kent on Sat afternoon to see my girlfriends family, you no the usual xmas prezzy exchange trip! anyway i live just outside Portsmouth and in the morning we had about 4-5 inches it soon stopped and thought what the heck lets go, the main roads would be fine, well they were for a while but getting into Kent it started getting abit bleak, we set off about 1.30 lunchtime and got to Herne Bay about 8.15pm! we clocked about 140 miles getting there and i will say my car performed amazingly!! the snow button and TC worked really well, there was one part in Faversham that we did struggle but a very very kind passer by that was helping other by pushing cars up a steep hill gave me a gentle push just near the top and we was away, just before that my bargin of a Omega was getting up the hill quite well just as a 58 plate Merc S class was going backwards down the hill with both wheels spinning! lol  ;D i had never really used the winter button before and can honestly say i wouldnt of been able to do the trip without it! i love my Omega and can honestly say its all the car i need, also it returned 34mpg too!  :y
