Rear light
« on: 30 December 2007, 22:02:07 »

Hi ya
A bit of a problem. The rear o/s lights on my omega estate are playing up.The brake light fails to come on at times and will work if i wiggle the bulb then will fail again. Also the rear light will also fail but comes back on if i tap the lens.I have tried cleaning the contacts but no difference.Any ideas more than welcome.
Cheers
Kieran

Have you tried swapping the bulb with the other side as it may be faulty, is it new ?

Make sure the socket on the end of the loom is making a good coonection on the bulb holder, & clean up all connections. I don't know specifically on your car but is there a brown earth/ground wire that has an earth near-by? Make sure that's clean & tight. Are all the bulb holders holding their respective lamps firmly? Try to lift up the sprung connection in the bottom of lamp holder a bit - don't have power on them while you do it if you're using a metal screw driver.  :o  :y
