Not too bad compared to the old 2.6
« on: 21 December 2015, 15:12:42 »

Well have had the Merc about 6 weeks now & have used it on the dry days we have had,  my 2.6 CDX manual used to do between 27 - 30 MPG , filled the Merc today after covering 343 miles mostly the commute to work good A roads & about 3 miles of dual carriageway so have stretched its legs so to speak , took 64 litres to fill it so about 24.5 to the gallon which is not bad for a 15 year old 4.3 V8.Do I prefer it to the Mig yes, but still have a soft spot for the old V6's.

That's impressive mpg for an engine of that size, I wonder how much of that comes from the dual spark plugs?

Best I've been able to extract from the M5 is just under 25mpg and that was driving it like it was on empty, it usually sits around 16-17mpg. The 3L manual Omega will give over 30mpg easily and have seen over 40mpg on a reasonable motorway run sitting at a steady 75.

If you Elite an MV6, does that make it an MVee-leet?

Yes I was pleased with that, when I brought it back from Yorkshire it did about 30 MPG , much better than I had expected.
