Bmw have excelled by designing a vehicle that looks hideous from all angles. They lost the plot design wise a few years back but this takes it to an all time low. I can only hope that the designer of the XM soon recovers from his mental illness and is never allowed near a sketch pad ever again.

I think the last good looking cars bmw made were the i3 & i8. Its been firmly downhill from there.

The 5 series has always been a good looking car... Except the '03-'10 E60/61 obviously.

The designer has probably never seen one. 

I expect he just pressed the Auto button on his CAD software and went out for lunch, came back and thought That'll do. 

It's more likely he drew it with the three crayons he didn't eat for lunch.
