Definitely an EV.

I wonder if it will even look remotely like a Capri though?  ???  Or will they just stick the Capri badge on a dreary jelly mould like they did with the Mustang.  ::)

Apparently it will at least have the four headlights so it'll be interesting to see what they come up with!  :y

Can't imagine that it will be anything very exciting, if like you say it's comparable to the Mustang,  I won't be rushing to view one.

Most Capris were about as exciting as the Cortinas that their engines and gearboxes came from.

A modern one would use the running gear from a Focus, in a coupeish body based on those measurements. VW tried this a few years ago with the Scirocco, and ended up with a car that was just a squashed Golf. Traditional long bonnets and short tails don't really suit FWD mechanicals!

I never had any desire for the originals, despite being a big fan of The Professionals back in the day.

But Ford will be trying to push junk on the back of a name that had a following, much like Vauxhall tried with the particularly crap Viva.

I had an Original many years ago. It was dull, boring and uninspiring, just like every other Ford Ive ever driven. Their popularity was always a mystery to me.

Poor mans EType pen1s.

My dad had one and had to carry chains in the boot to aid traction. My brother wrote it off sans chains when the rear overtook the front

No, everything has to be an SUV* these days otherwise the "competitive mums" on the school run don't want them.

It's fine to make the Mustang an ugly electric monstrosity these days, so it'll be fine for the Crapi too!

Never drove one, but Grandma had one when I was a nipper, and it seemed nice enough.  I still remember she called it Queenie, no idea why.

But I have driven a modern Viva, and cannot believe the original was any more crap.  But maybe I have rose tinted glasses...

...my first car was a Triumph Acclaim, one of Grandma's cast offs that was going ridiculously cheap, cheap to insure, had a bit of poke to it compared to other insurable stuff, and was in immaculate condition despite its age.  I thought, suspect handling aside, it was the mutts nuts as a young, free, reckless, boy-racing yoof.   Then, a few years ago, Tunnie and I saw one at the local scrappy, so I had to go and sit in it, and what a disappointment!  Talk about rose tinted specs ;D.  But still have fond memories of my first car, and the antics....
