Acetone better than Redex?

I've seen a lot of posts on VxON suggesting than acetone (nail polish remover) in measurements of approx 1-2ml per litre of fuel (thats a max ratio of 2:1000 for the mathematically minded) cleans the fuel system far better than any additives on the market? I'm not endorsing any such practices but I am curious to know if any OOF'ers have tried it  ::) ::) ::)

If so what sort of results  :y

Not sure of its cleaning properties when mixed with petrol. But this did the rounds a few years ago as supposed to increase MPG. Believe the myth was debunked as actually decreasing MPG.

although the concentration is low, for a small amount of money I wouldnt test that on my car..

Due to the dilution, i'd suggest it would be useless.

The engine wouldn't even 'see' it.

Given what acetone does to some rubbers .. I wouldn't even dream of it .... :( I know the dilution levels are very high .. but seals, fuel pipes, gaskets .. often have rubber or rubber compounds in them ... continual exposure to even low dilutions may well have harmful effects .. even if the metal bits of the engines are unaffected .. :(
