Is it doable, went through maintenance guides, did I miss it or is it not on there.. Have complete assembly ready to go, but not today guys, its too bloody hot  Oh its a 3.2 Elite

Its been a few years, but I think its just held in place by three or four screws. Not too difficult.

Are you sure that the motor is faulty? In general, they're pretty reliable.

The rest of the mechanism is prone to rust, seizing and other damage. This is true for all sunroofs, not just Omegas.

That's a very good point buddy about corrosion and seizure. The last car which I accidently rearranged didn't have a sunroof, so it makes sense that constantly exposed to the elements the poor thing probably has had a hard life. I might just leave it, but last owner removed relay as he said it had a habit of trying to open of its own accord. That definitely as you suggest is pointing to some sort of seizing.

sounds like the control dial to operate the roof is the problem from your last post .

I think there's a guide on cleaning the tracks of the switch

Thanks for that Dave, I will replace the module and drive motor as I have a new one, came with the car and I'm assuming once I remove the complete unit, that I would be able to turn the female side of the worm drive gear to prove the mechanical part gubbins of the sunroof is not seized. Or hoping that's the case...

Don't force it manually like that. It will never be where it thinks it is causing more issues as the position sensors are all in the motor housing.

Interior light out and two screws. Trim off. Motor bolts and plug and refit.

Emergency operation is by way of the Allen key in the tool bag as per owners manual.

And the control knob from memory. Haynes is accurate for much of the trim in addition to the pretty comprehensive guides here
