General Discussion Area / Exhaust Done
« on: 01 June 2008, 15:08:34 »
Well I've managed to do the exhaust!

2 of the bolts came out, had to drill the other 2   :-/  Could have been worse.

New one slotted together easily  :D

Crank sensor changed as well, so ready to go  :D

So Jobs done, many a first for me are :

Exhaust (from cat back)
Crank Sensor
Brake Fluid
Front Disks & Pads
Blank EGR
Coolant Flush
Wipers all round
Remove Towbar
Breather Clean
change Spark Plugs
Fuel Filter
Replace Climate bulbs
& Oil & Filter change
Check strap bush

Left to do are a couple of minor things, adjust bonnet catch, replace grommit under Hid washer pump, think thats it  :)

Unsorn and insure next week and she'll be off  :o

Very pleased with myself for managing that lot  :D

While I was at the zoo the other day, thought I'd dig out the old sketchbook and have a go at an Elephant.  Went wrong somewhere but can't quite work out where  :-/

General Discussion Area / (joke)  Odd
« on: 27 May 2008, 08:33:01 »
A man named Odd had been the butt of jokes his whole life.  One day, he'd had enough.

"That's it," he said.  "When I die, I want my tombstone to be blank.  I don't want people making jokes about me when I'm dead."

After Odd died, people saw his blank tombstone and said, "That's odd...."

General Discussion Area / Good few jobs done
« on: 24 May 2008, 20:05:11 »
on Ljays MV6 manual estate

Took the towbar off
changed the fuel filter
Flushed the Brake fluid
Replaced the front disks and pads.

Not much to most of you, but that is really cutting my teeth, only watched those jobs done before.

I'm getting there with this mechanicing lark  :y
Was a big relief to find it both still went, and stopped when I had finished  ;D

Only problem today was finding the already dodgy looking exhaust is in fact holier than the pope  >:(

General Discussion Area / Luck, or lack there of..
« on: 22 May 2008, 19:33:37 »
Thought i'd do a couple of quick jobs on Ljays new motor...

Climate bulbs, changed :)  Thought oh look, Vauxhall gave given me 6 instead of the 5 I asked and payed for...
Removed the old, inserted the new and promptly dropped on in the pile of  old ones, couldnt work out which one it was, ahh well at least I 'had' a spare.  All back together and working fine  ;D

Replaced all the wiper blades and the rear wiper arm, snapped the nut cover so back to Vaux :(

Thought I'd do the Crank sensor, all though we got home with no more code 19......Right wheres the connector.....hmm thats not the shape as the new one....so back to Vaux  >:(

Ahh well, I'd fall off my chair If I managed something car related with issues at all  :-[

And now its started raining, and I don't fancy changing the fuel filter in the rain.
