Probably due to calibrated speedo. 100% accurate which is why it only.needs to go to 150.

Not sure I'd trust an electronic handbrake driven by French electrics even if it wasn't displaying a warning, TBH. :o

Especially considering that VW can't get them right. Passats are particularly unreliable. As are Discoveries and RR Sports.
At least the French give you a manual release unlike vw. Guess they realise that they will go wrong!!

Tried resynching it? Ignition on and press the buttons.

Mine's a saloon auto, but mostly short journeys (max 15miles), average about 24-26 mpg. Mostly Miss Daisy driving with the occasional clear out!

That isn't anything to do with the air con, its part of the secondary air injection system. Refitting it should sort it.

Alternators fail regularly, usually around 70k (About £250+), intake manifold swirl flaps fail needing a new manifold (£250+), EGR block and fail (£100, although best blanked off and remapped), seen some with injector wiring loom suffering bad connections and injector faults. Apart from that quite good, be religious on cambelt and water pump changes although if it does fail only breaks the rockers usually.

Pictures would be good though think mine is suffering from fan failure.

Not sure I would be that stoical about it to be honest- I'm in the trade and know that mistakes happen but what you have is two mistakes on the same car in two visits to the same dealer providing service to a prestige brand. Hands up for admitting it but I wouldn't be that happy.

hi all,

my mate at work, his got the above car (4 years old) his engine management light is on and the spanner has lit up and also the emmisions light. performance is a bit sluggish and jerky when accelerating.

any ideas? i initially thought misfire when he mentioned it was jerky under acceleration but any ideas would be appreciated :)

Needs a code reader on it,more than likely a coil gone down

+1 on coil, always going. you can get your hand to the injector wiring on some of them to narrow down which cylinder.

Omega General Help / Climate control problem
« on: 20 October 2011, 19:22:44 »
Hi all,
Done a search couldn't really find anything. Recenty got ac sorted but the temperature on the climate really doesn't seem to do much. Hi and lo work but if you set a temp it continually blows cool air at high speed. I'm suspecting the control panel as I'm not sure I can hear or feel the little sampling fan running. Is there anything to clean or is it new panel time?

Thanks

Ade
