Omega Electrical and Audio Help / crack or cam sensor?
« on: 12 January 2011, 17:14:02 »
so.... time to change sensors. Max rpm is 4.5k, car sometimes stalls while driving and once it didnt want to start at all, after a minute of trying it did. should I change both sensors?

So, my batteries for the remote died, I changed them, the remote seems to be working ( light is flashing when I press a button). But it doesn't disable the alarm. It has no effect on the car's alarm. My friend told me to calibrate it. But I dont know how. I have a "Ranger" alarm, at least it's written on my remote. '00 X20XEV.
anyone?

hi again. few problems for me again :D :D . so, first of all my passenger sun shield got ripped off and the wires touched and boom - tachometer, speedometer, radio, conditioner - these are things that don't work. No life what so ever. Is there a fuse to change or something like that? Any1 knows?

2nd is the that sensor, i think it's the cam sensor which does this. Is there an easy way to disable it so my car revs more than 4.5k ( i know it's bad and so on), cuz it's damaged.

Omega General Help / uneven braking, front.
« on: 23 May 2011, 20:28:40 »
hi all. my omega has one problem left - uneven braking in the front. it's about 1.8kN left and 3kN at the right side(always about 1-1.2kN difference). any thought what to do? almost everything there is new. brake discs, brake pads(dunno if I said the right thing, not my native language), main brake cylinder, brake tubes and removed air from the brake system. still the same - uneven.
If it helps - car pulls a little to the right side(that's where the brake force is larger), doesnt matter if im braking or not it does that.

Omega General Help / codes 0335 and 0340
« on: 08 November 2010, 18:53:27 »
hello, i have a x20xev, year 2000. The check engine light has been on my dash for ages, so I did paperclip test and got codes 0335 and 0340. As I understand it's the Cam and Crank sensors. Recently ,the car has started to go over 4.5k rpm, if it's not started when warm (>5 hours to cool off). Only problem there is - the 4.5k rpm limit. I just though it is the Cam sensor, not both of them. :S Could cleaning the Cam sensor and its wiring could help? And I need to know what to change. Diagnostics ( about year ago) said it's the cam sensor only(that's what i was told, I didnt drive the car there), paperclip shows cam and crank.

Omega General Help / Hit a rock.
« on: 11 June 2010, 18:48:46 »
Hi all, it's me again. Well, few days ago I hit a pretty big rock ( don't ask how :D ), changed the tire, everything would be ok, except one thing - I have to hold my steering wheel to almost 90 degrees to go straight, probably bent something. I'd like to know what could it be and how expensive it could be. Oh, and I hit the rock with front wheel.

Omega General Help / no power, car shaking + other problems.
« on: 07 May 2010, 20:48:45 »
hi there, haven't been here recently. So, my omega 2000. x20xev has another problem - It's totally out of power, when I press gas pedal, car shakes(shakes in a way that it seems like it's going out of fuel, but it's not),  it barely gets more revs, even if i floor it.. after 3k rpm it's kind of ok, at least no shaking(or not that much, dunno), but then there's another problem - at 4.5k rpm it's like there was a rev limiter there. Just wont go over those magical 4.5k rpm, tho sometimes it goes over 4.5k, but rarely, very rarely. + bonus problem - ticking sound somewhere in the back, sometimes it seems like it's in front, depends on where I sit. The faster wheels spin, the faster it ticks. Cheers. that's pretty much it. ;)Thanks.

P.S - forgot - the more I press gas pedal, the more the car shakes.

Omega General Help / cant get over 4500 rpm
« on: 25 December 2008, 15:36:43 »
hi there. i've noticed a strange thing. i cant get over 4500 rpm. it's like rev limiter would be set at 4500, and at 4500 car shakes strangely too. i've tested it only in neutral. if it matters I'll test in gears. thx.

i have a problem when i press clutch, or put into neutral. when i press clutch , or put into neutral rpm supposed to fall to about 700. but now it falls down to 500 or even lover. if it falls lower than like 350 then the car just turns off. its not allways that the car just turns off ( dont know that word in english), but its kind of stupid, if u know that it can happen any minute. its not allways that rpm goes to 500 or lower. sometimes it falls down to 700, but mostry to about 500. and sometimes lower.  it started yesterday.another problem which happens VERY rarely - I've had like 4 times in a half year when im into gear and and suddenly puff, the car shuts down, steering wheel blocks. its kind of dangerous :D.

sorry for bad english.

Omega General Help / it aint starting.
« on: 26 July 2007, 22:03:37 »

i have the sound like when i try to start the car i hear the sound when starter is trying to start the engine, but engine doesnt start. i have fuel. as i saw the battery LED was illuminated, i charged it up, so maybe the low voltage is problem. when i finished charging it , I putted it in car.so gonna see tomorrow - works, or not.

p.s the problem started when i started car,  (battery led was "burning" red), the engine worked about 2 seconds, and it stopped working. aftter that i tried to start it, but nothing (i could hear how started is working, but maybe with too low power?)

any1 knows?
