I need to refurbish the front nearside strip on the 3.2l facelift Elite, as a previous owner's (DIY?) paint job has completely broken down. I'm part way through doing the offside mirror back for the same reason, but this was easily removed, and is quite easy.
I could do it on the car but feel I could do a better job by removing the strip. There is a good guide for pre-facelift strip renewal but it looks as if it isn't possible to remove the old one intact.
Are facelift trims attached with both clips and adhesive strips top and bottom as in the guide, and has anyone taken one off and replaced it successfully.

Open door, find two stainless(?) torx screws, one at each end of the door. Undo. Smack with clenched fist/heel of hand the trim toward the front of the car. 15 years of dust and sticktion will break, and Robert becomes your parent's male sibling :y

Just a note that the front door trim has to be moved backwards, not forwards. :P Haven't tried the rear yet.

Ooops, are you sure? :D Well apologies. Stupidly I might be thinking about refitting them, then!

Yes. Definitely towards back of vehicle to remove, DBG. Virtually no effort required, and the attachment method is far easier than that used on PFL and MFL models.
Wouldn't have found the Torx screws without your help, though. :y

Not totally useless, at least! ::) :D Haha. Yeah I was trying to remember which way the car was pointing when I pushed them off, if you follow my logic. as you say, PFL/MFL is a fair old pain, as I'm finding! :y
