.. and it will always be a "modified" car and thus a pain to insure, etc. Not worth modifying a car if it's available in the spec you're aiming for.

Kevin

I guess that will apply to my "manual MV6"  :-[

Well, yes and no. At least you aren't radically changing its' performance.

Kevin

True.

1 - change it to a manual with DVLA, and hopefully the insurance databases will pick it up as a manual, without further questions asked  :)

 :y

And, if they reckon it's an auto "oh, no, definately a manual, says so on the V5, has 3 pedals, can play the star spangled banner on it, etc..." ;)

not only engine and g.box tho,
what about suspension, brakes diff, propshaft etc etc a lot of work although easy done if you have the bits!! trouble is the four pots do not have the mountings on the body for the twin horse pipes plus the engine moutings are in a different place etc etc :y

Brakes, will be the same, assuming manual diff ratios stay same.

'modified' car insurance would be pain, might as well get an x-plodder and keep it that way.

Too much work really, just a thought. The 2.2 is running really well at the moment.

Looking out on the market at possible future replacements, the only cars  i like are 4-6k and are about the same age as what i have now!  :o
