Omega General Help / Diesel vs Petrol Bell-housing
« on: 09 September 2010, 18:02:02 »
Hi, just a quick one, does anyone know if the bell housing for the 2.5 td bmw engine is the same as the X30XE?

If not, is the 2.2 Diesel the same?
Thanks

Omega General Help / V6 engine mounts
« on: 05 July 2010, 22:57:01 »
Hi guys, a month or so ago i changed both engine mounts and gearbox mount (2 of the 3 were knackard) but ive now got a weird thing where when accelerating (hard) in first the engine and box twists that much that when i go for second gear and let off the throttle (engine moves back to normal position) i get 4th instead, so i now find myself pulling the stick left and back to get second.

Has anyone tried any alternative engine mounts that were successful?

Someone once said about ford granada mounts, which i tried but found them to be softer than standard omega ones.

Thanks in advance  :)

Omega General Help / 2 different drive shafts??
« on: 29 June 2010, 18:33:32 »
Hi, i need a bit of advice on driveshafts, or outer cv joints to be precise, and i hope this makes sense....
I changed my diff a couple of months back, and the new diff had shafts already in it, so i intended on using these so i didnt have to pull the shafts out.
passengers side bolted onto hub fine, but the drivers side was completely differnet, the bolts were different spaces apart and it was a different shape.

So obviosly at some point the rear hub and drive shaft have been changed on my car, because the funny pattern on the end of outer CV joint wouldnt fit into hub, so i ended up using my original shaft.
Any one have any ideas as to what this rear hub and shaft may be off (2 litre possibly) because all other shafts/hubs ive come across 2.5 v6 auto and manual have been like the passengers side one?
Any help would be good

Yet another hello, Iam paul, had an omega for 7 months now and love it, its is a 1999 3.0 MV6 manual with

- Full stainless exhaust from cats back
- 17" astra GSi snow flakes
- Lowered 60mm all round
- Courtenay Sport 5.6kg flywheel
- Magnecor leads and Bosch super 4 plugs
- Welded 4.22 ratio diff ( HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)
- MOMO race steering wheel
- Monaro style Angel eye headlights (not fitted in picture)
- de-badged/mesh grille

Soon to have modified inlet manifold, mantzel style plenum and Senator rear sub-frame bushes when i get round to fitting them

The car was primarily bought for drifting, but i love it so much that its used as my daily driver too!
