But you could argue the world was also much more stable pre Trump?

But what did Trump and Putin talk about and agree? I don’t recall the minutes being published.

My observations for what they are worth.

Living in Spain, our town has had an influx of Moroccans. Opening businesses and youngsters looking for work. At least the men. Women can get work in the shops.

So far so good. We have a load of young Moroccans in our Spanish lessons classes. Their views are quite horrific. Women are inferior and certainly not and never will be equal. When we walk on the street two Moroccans swagger along and own the pavement. They cannot go to discos - either sexes  so the young men just hang around looking good ( they are well dressed).

So my solution is anyone arriving looking for asylum, ship them off to a muslim state ( assuming they are muslims) . This drip drip or faster erosion of our society despite all the failings of Christianity needs addressing. The traditions here are very firmly routed but give it twenty years there will be woke complaints about Easter parades etc.

As it is an intermittent fault, I will have
Either a go at swapping it out for a S/h camera
Or get a new part off the net ..

Just been to VW dealer. And looked at S/H cars outside. Saw a nice car for 25,000 euros.

Got quote for two parts. Not including fitting, they were about 1000 euros for the two. I reckon if you bought a car from parts it would be a million pounds. No wonder car insurance has gone up!

Suspected that might be the case. Good to know. Thanks.

I tried to use VW.com with VIN to see any recalls. That failed due to “ not a valid VIN” . Autodna disagree and confirm it is a Golf.

Lets see what tomorrow brings. 90 minute journey to dealer - no courtesy car available ( to rent) so  we have packed an overnight bag………

Car is booked into stealer tomorrow.

Question. Do north European market ( Germany) cars have a different air con configuration to Southern ( Spain). Eg different thermostat but obviously not that!

Just wondering as the car was from Germany and the air con might be having to work harder here in the desert.

Only 24C here today! So car has chosen best time of year to go faulty. It looks like electrical wierdness no doubt helped by potholes and the endLess sleeping policemen. It might be something mechanical as it was noisy too. Decided to switch it off and use good old fashioned open windows.
I can report that doesnt work at all well at speed.

Anyway it is either stealer or an air con specialist. Both in same town an hour away.

One think is for certain, it will have to be fixed. To filter the dreaded olive pollen and to cope with the ever increasing heat. We seem to be getting more heat coming from North Africa than ever before. Last year it was 38 on the 28th April.

Do you a swap some heat for some of your water ( this is third year of drought)!

You are right. This year we are going into overdrive on making memories.

We have our affairs in order but there are one or two things we need to do.

Been a few developments. Our dog’s health deteriorated quite rapidly over the last weekend. So much for weeks or months. We decided during Sunday night that we needed to have him put down. He couldnt even walk to go and have a pee or lift his leg. Never seen that on a male dog. Monday morning rang the local vet- already out treating sheep. So lifted him in the car and off to local town . All three vets not working Monday morning…….. So rang our vet in Granada. Hour away for an appointment . Vet had difficulty finding a leg vein! But eventually he was gone. Totally horrible experience. For ten years he has been an integral part of our every day life - going everywhere with us..One plus is we now have a much bigger pool of rented accommodation available and places we can go to are much more.  Anyway we are coming to terms with his demise.

The 82 year old expat in hospital is a a different bag. He is on daily dialisys to try and kick start his kidneys. Not eating but drinking copious alcohol each day has improved his look. However the hospital warn he is likely to get pneumonia.

We have been trying to get his deceased wifes will but it is like running through treacle Getting his is slightly more impossible. Half a dozen of us are having a conflab tomorrow to agree a way forward. Eg get a paid solicitor involved. He might solve the impasse by getting a notary to visit the hospital…… Wills, inheritence is slightly differen5 here. For example tax and dues are paid within six months and she died five weeks ago.

YZ250. What a truly horrible situation. My brothers youngest sons wife died at start of Covid from a treatable  illness, leaving husband with two children. Sister in law has run herself into the ground trying to help ever since. .I sincerely hope life improves for you from now on.

This has all confirmed we need to put our house up for sale this Spring. Time for a new chapter and make loads more memories. Onwards and upwards.

General Discussion Area / Re: Dyson V6 head question
« on: 24 January 2024, 18:52:13 »
Is it an active head, ie with a motor at the back to turn the roller?  I believe most Dyson cordless only use active heads, other than the crevice type tools, but I dont have anything as old as a V6

If it is an active head, check the electrical connections where it joins the extension pipe - you can assume the extn pipe and main unit is OK if other heads work, but I know you can get crap into the electrical connections causing the head motor not to run.

Yes it is.  Great suggestion. Will have a look tomorrow.

We have two heads. Carpet cleaner works great on what few carpets we have.

The other general purpose head doesnt rotate so useless on smooth surfaces like floor tiles.

I have had it to pieces times and cleaned it. Bothe bearings run smoothly on the large roller.

There is however resistance when you turn the cross spigot on the end of the assembly that goes inside the blue and red roller. Is that by design or the culprit?
