Scuttle Sealing - Photo

VXL V6:
Here's where you seal the scuttle (scuttle removed) to stop it dripping water onto the N/S of the engine / dispack etc. I've just used some Loctite grey sealant as it was handy. You'll need to scrape the remains of the foam off this area and the corresponding part of the scuttle.

Thought it was just around the wiper holes we needed to do  :-\ :-\

Nope. Vast majority of the water comes in over that metal edge of the top of the scuttle drain. As the pic and the sealant shown. Right above pot 6. Also make sure the wind screen to scuttle seal is firmly attached to the bottom edge of the screen top left of pic. :)

Obvious sign of ingress is sodden foam on the under side of the scuttle.

Although do the wiper holes as well. I used old cam cover goo. (Black see :) )

Nick W:
I found that removing all of the foam eliminated all the signs of the scuttle leaking, and so haven't bothered with sealant. The wet foam just seems to act as a reservoir for all sorts of erratic drips
