Omega Alarm Problem!
« on: 22 September 2007, 18:56:07 »

Hi,
I am having problems with the alarm on my R reg Omega.  It keeps going off for no reason. I have tried locking the car using just the key, clicking the remote lock once or twice but the alarm still sets and then activates some hours later ( my neighbours are most impressed at 4am!!) I have disconnected the sensors inside the car but the same is still happening. Any ideas please???? I would be happy to just disable the alarm if thats what it takes.
Thanks.
Dave. :)

Probably the power sounder located under the scuttle cover on the driver's side. The rechargeable batteries fail, leak on the board and cause them to get upset. Just unplugging it should do the trick.

Might be worth trying it with the bonnet switch disconnected first, though, as this seems to be the other common problem.

Both common causes covered - bonnet switch (disconnect for a few days to test) and power sounder batteries.
