york meet
« on: 27 April 2009, 20:02:45 »

anybody travelling to the york meeting from the north or south may want to have a look at exiting the A1-M1 at wetherby, and follow the york signs. approx a 10-15 minutes drive to rufforth its the b1224 but the road is ok. you will avoid a congested A64 and an almost certain crowded york outer ringroad. :y

Thought you finished around 5:30ish? Can't you work from home that day, and finish on dot of 5pm?

I will be working from home that day, won't be able to leave until at least 5:30, bringing a mate, he fancies getting away for the weekend.

Trouble is he lives in Chipping Norton, and does not drive, so it means a rather large detour

Nah, not heavy - I understand you 'only have a 2.2  :P

Going up, just some TD bits - cam cover, inlet manifold, compressor etc etc.  Not sure what to put them in - obviously I don't want them to drip blood. Can you think of anything?

i believe there ara delays on the A64 just before york. i,m sure the highways agency saves this work for bank holidays. take my word for it via wetherby is easier and faster in the daytime. (especially now the by-pass is up and running)   :) :) :)

Sadly I'm going to miss this large gathering at York as I'd already booked tickets for the A1 GP at Brands this weekend. I think its the first large OOF meet I've not been able to attend. :'(

I'm gonna miss meeting up with you guys that I already know and also meeting those that I've not met before. Anyway, looks like its going to be a pretty decent turnout and hope you guys (and girls!) have a great weekend. :y

This does of course mean that I won't be there to provide my usual OOF chef and BBQ services  ::) but I'm sure you won't go hungry!
You certainly won't die of thirst with the likes of Mike Dundee going.  :D  [smiley=beer.gif]

Enjoy. :y :y [smiley=beer.gif] [smiley=beer.gif]

Cheers Guy. :y Yep, if York goes ahead again next year I hope to be there. I'm going to try and make it to the East Anglia meet in July and hopefully Newent if it's still going ahead.
