Dear All,

I'm on my third Omega (2.2CDX) having had great service from them over the years (until now!).

Over the last few months the following has happened:

False alarms - car battery replaced by local garage.
Problem not solved -  the the powersounder unit was then removed (by local garage) - something about possible faulty backup alarm battery - problem still not solved.

I currently take the negative battery connector off overnight to stop being woken by the alarm!

Today while driving a loud buzzing could be heard under the steering wheel (relay?) and the internal courtesy light flashes continuously until the main light switch is turned off.

I read a previous message on the old site which tended to say its the actual main light switch that may be the problem.

Any help suggestions much appreciated.

Alarm going off - possibly micro switch under bonnet not adjusted correctly - try disconnecting it (pull off plug) to confirm.

Light issue - I would suspect ligh switch - swap with a known good one (from OOF breaker) - 5 minute job to swap ;)

Thanks for such a prompt reply dbug.

Do you know of a good website or breaker in the Manchester area that may have the lightswitch?

Regards,
draig.

Look in the parts for sale section - sure one of the breakers on the forum can help with a light switch :y

Contacted the local Vauxhall dealer today, the main light switch was £175 !
Ordered a secondhand one from one of the omega breakers for £10 + p&p !

Will re-post if I fix the problem when the switch arrives.

Regards and seasons greeting.
