Omega Electrical and Audio Help / No reverse lights
« on: 13 November 2007, 22:12:02 »
Well my new Omega is my pride and joy, it only has one minor fault. I'll be buggered if I can get reverse lights to work.

Didn't notice til I went to my mum and dads and couldn't see where I was going to reverse back up their drive. I've tried the blatantly obvious and changed both bulbs and checked the fuse and everythings tickety boo!

Had a word with my mate and he mentioned something about a switch on the gear linkage when you put it into reverse. Any ideas cause I'm abit stumped!?

Also, is it an MoT failure having no reverse lights?

Well I took the filter out earlier today and it was kecked in sh*t so cleaned it up and now I can see where I'm going again. Shouldn't hold out much hope for it improving my driving though  ;D

OK, been out and checked everything at its pointing to a blockage in the filter cause theres hardly any water coming through the system.

So can someone do me a step by step on how to get into the pump filter as A) I'm abit retarded and B) I don't want to break the bloody thing, which I have a tendency to do :)

Omega General Help / Washer jets!
« on: 19 December 2007, 18:08:03 »
Cleaned the windscreen on the way to work, no problems. Came back home and just got dribs and drabs, out of water....obviously.

Checked the bottle and it was half full but topped it up anyway but can hardly get any water out of the jets. I have to keep flicking the indicator stalk to get drabs of water but hold it back and all I can hear is the pump, so now I just have the wipers going like mad and smearing the screen.

Had a go at jets with a pen to clear and blockage and looked at the pipe as best as I can going from the bottle to the jets and everything seems fine.

Am I missing something blatantly obvious? :-?

Hi people,

I thought I'd best say hello again as its been a couple of years now since I was last on. I used to have a 2000 2.5 V6 CD in silver but thanks to some numpty (I called him worse at the time) in a 7.5 ton truck it got written off.
Presently I've got a 2005 Vectra SRi V6 CDTi Auto which until recently ticked all the right boxes when I started getting a craving for an Omega again, they're still a brilliant looking car and even better value for money than ever.
So hopefully I can sell on the Veccy and pick up a nice manual MV6  :)

Heres to rear wheel drive fun once again  ;D

Thanks for the welcomes people.

A week on, still grinning all day long.

Found some interesting facts this week: People actually let me out of junctions now and don't sit right up my chuff when the realise what car it is. Oh and if you wear a dark blue works uniform and drive with your headlights on during the day people move over and let you all the way down the outside lane of the roadworks to the cones and then let you in.

I laughed my arse off!! :D ;D :D

Hi people,

I'm Andy, I joined a while ago when I was first looking for an Omega. After some financial difficulties and then buying a house and all sorts of other distractions I finally bought an Omega.

I'm now the proud owner of a 2000 2.5 V6 CD saloon in silver. I'll get some pics up this weekend after I've polished it. Picked it up from Chelmsford on Saturday and drove it all weekend with a huge grin on my face, I've had a banger of a Laguna while we sorted out finances on our new house but now its time to play again, so the power feels immense.

Its a manual, done 103k, had one owner from new. Belonged to a company director and when he left he bought the car off them so the servicing is immence. 3 full A4 sheets in fact and got it for £1900, bargain if you ask me.

I'll post some more soon when I stop driving it.....so that could be a while  ;) ;D

Thanks for the welcomes. Am I ok to put the Veccy up in the for sale section despite the fact its obviously not an Omega? :y

Hi guys and girls

I'm Andy, just joined up today. Currently own a 2000 Vectra SRi 140 which I've just put up for sale, I've not long had it but after going out in my mates MV6 last week I'm hooked on an Omega, my mum had one and I drove it more than her!!

I'm hoping to sell my SRi for £2500 and buy a pre facelift MV6 saloon or a facelift v6 saloon. Either way I want a manual.

So any help or advice would be welcome on both.

Anyone interested in my SRi can email me at andilinacre@btinternet.com or on 07795 392089 (phone is usually better) and I can give more details or anyone wanting to down grade an interested in a swap can get me as above.

In the meantime I just hope to be an Omega owner soon and enjoy the forum.

Andy  ;)
