Question re MOT....
« on: 09 March 2009, 08:38:16 »

I hope someone might know...

I am currently abroad, and it looks like I will not make it back to the UK in time to renew the MOT, i.e. I will probably be back a couple of days after it expires. Is this a problem, or can I just drive to the MOT station a few days later? The car is parked on public road, if it makes a difference...

The obvious option would be to ask a friend to take the car and MOT it, but I was just wondering what will happen if I just try to MOT it a few days later?

Thanks...

There is no problem MOT'ing it at a later date, the issue is it's unMOT'd on a (presumably) public road.

You will be fine to drive it there when you get back (booked MOT and all that), your issue is it being on a public road until this time with no MOT!

Thanks TB and Mark. I will see if I can get someone to take it home and park it on their drive then...
