From what i gather, Kapersky are the Reference Lab that a lot of the others use as a base point and base their software on Kaperskys findings, which indicates to me that most of the others are out of date for catching nasties as they are using out of date reference points. i have never used Kapersky personally as i've used AVG Free (being a tight wad.) however i've no doubt that others on here have far more experience than me !

And me b4ndit, been using ESET Nod32 for quite a while now, no problems at all, and certainly no 'nasties' have got through, highly recommended by a few computer shops around here...  :y

I take it you're a Barclays customer? I've used Kaspersky for a few years now after it was recommended to me by an OOF member.
I can't fault it at all. I also use it on my Galaxy SII. It gets my  :y

I have moved all my (Windows) PCs over to MS Security Essentials (MSE), after getting fed up with the bloatiness of most of the others, the performance impact, and in the case of Avast, the bloody thing constantly nagging me that I was in breach of the free licence.
