Haven't we been through all this already, please see here July 2020? Seems to me that the Kilen springs that you need are 60037 which are heavy duty or 260640 standard duty inconstant springs. Doc Gollum recommended the 60037.

Don't rely on ebay, or the sellers. It's best to directly check the manufacturers application lists.

For a 2.6 saloon without self levelling Kilen lists three possibilities.
71026 = Coil spring with constant wire diameter = GM 90487520
260640 = Coil spring with inconstant wire diameter = GM 90487520
60037 = Coil spring with constant wire diameter; Reinforced Version = GM # not stated

So the 60037 springs will fit, just they are reinforced which presumably means heavy duty.
My guess is that the 260640 inconstant spring is a standard duty but improved version of the 71026 standard constant wire spring.

Hi Doctor Gollum

Thank you for the link to the pair of springs. I contacted the company to purchase them. They asked for my Reg No. And are now saying that they will not fit my car. It is standard setup not self levelling. I will believe the members advise on here more than their's. If I purchase the pair in your link (Kilen Code 60037), will they fit with no problems?

Sorry for asking.

Thanks for all the help. Take care

We have, but somehow the OP ended up with completely different springs. Hopefully buying the correct ones will resolve this :y

Hi Enceladus

I probably did ask a while back. Since then I have had a stroke, that took out my communication, reading and speech. I still have problems now, you could say one thing to me, but it would register as something else. On a bad day I cannot even string a sentence together.

Sorry I asked the same question again and waisted peoples time.  I appreciate all the help given to me, so I can now get the correct ones sorted. I was always taught if you are not sure, ask even if you have asked before.

Take care

No such thing as a stupid question  ;)

I had forgotten about your situation, so absolutely no apologies for asking the same thing again. It is something in itself that you are making positive progress  :y

What is the meaning of these LS, LU, LP etc. in Jan Shur's list?

That's the ident code to quickly identify the correct parts for assembly in the factory...

For example, the page linked to is for Non Police saloons of certain production trim codes (25,26, M69 etc) LS is for non armoured, rough roads...

There were variations for Amoured, Ambulance, Police, Lowered Sports Chassis, Self Levelling, Limousine, Hearse, and that's on top of the basic body style and engine, although the engine only affects the front springs.

Aftermarket, you're limited to saloon/estate, LSC/standard/self levelling/HD.

Whilst a HD aftermarket spring will probably be a fair swap for a Police or Rough Road Factory spring, it would be unlikely to be suitable for Ambulance/Hearse/Armoured/Limousine.

Put another way,

A spring marked LS is only for an Unamoured Rough Road optioned Saloon of a certain trim spec.
