That was the big improvement with Japanese cars; although the bodies rusted just as badly, dismantling the mechanical parts was never an issue.

The top wishbone at the front was fastened in with a long bolt, I ended up chopping it & drilling the remainder out. The bolt was dealer only, I forget now how much it was, but it was bloody expensive .... £18 seems to ring a bell ... a lot of money in the early 80s for an apprentice  ::)
