Omega General Help / Up in the air
« on: 24 January 2010, 21:59:17 »
Hello,if i have my omega  on a lift supported at the body and wheels dangling can i put it in drive and let the rear wheels spin. i am asking because i stumbled across a thread somewhere in the depths of the forum with a brief reference to this and someone saying they had heard this could damage the drive shafts.i was intending to do this to check the drivetrain in motion, any thoughts?,regards.

I will be getting the MV6 2.6 auto i very recently bought on a lift this week for a close inspection and wondered if i ought to have a grease gun with me as i was thinking there might be grease nipples in the drive shafts or propshaft. If there are,how often ought they to be checked?

Omega General Help / (LT) or (SN)
« on: 11 January 2010, 17:24:11 »
hello, when looking at omega values on the parkers guide website a lot of models are distinguished from others by having (LT) at the end and in the 3.0 (SN). i cant figure it out so excuse my ignorance and can someone tell me what these mean.

Omega General Help / Re: stainless steel oil coolers
« on: 29 December 2009, 10:44:33 »
definitely servicing is the key,had a 2.5 transit diesel metrocab taxi with an auto box, sold at 370,000 miles running perfect, double driven so it worked night and day.engine and auto gearbox oil changed every 4 weeks from new.it seems to me that the 20,000 mile service interval on the V6 is way too much and as i am trying to buy one, full service history is not all its cracked up to be!
