"CHECK" icon showing, with light errors
« on: 07 April 2010, 11:30:20 »

Hi everyone,

When switching on the headlights, I get the "CHECK" icon show on my display, followed by various combinations of "Headlight, Tail light" and "Brake light".

All those lights are working fine. So - the question is, has anyone had a similar problem, and how do I go about sorting it out?

Gareth  :)

This can sometimes be caused by cheaper bulbs in the tail lights. Also check numberplate buls as that is often missed and the tail lights have 2 bulbs each side so make sure they are all working.

Noticed the ARV in your sig. is it ex Police?, if so could be the wiring is all over the place.

Hope its not a ex London Met Police, Red DPG / ARV, just had fun and games with one of them on the lights.

Are you sure you're checking all the bulbs? Don't forget the Omega has two sets of taillights  :y

cheers everyone - will check for second tail lights and numberplate bulbs when I am back in action.

Unfortunately - bulbs are the least of my worries at the moment as yesterday a young girl in a pug 206 skidded into the back of me at a fair speed while I was in a queue.

Probably an insurance write-off but only really needs pulling straight at the back, new bumper (&bar) and boot, so will take the settlement and get it fixed anyway.

Zirk - it is indeed an ex Metropolitan ARV :-) Got quite a bit of poke, but they don't half muck about with the interior!

Shame about the accident mate. Is it a facelift?

Bloody hell......when you say they muck around with the wiring, you are not kidding.........spent a good day sorting out the last one brought to me, especially the fog light wiring, they "convert" them to flashing and make the reversing lights blue strobes sometimes......

Bloody met!!
