Omega General Help / Re: Injector leak off pipes
« on: 29 November 2011, 19:09:56 »
That one on #6 is a real pig to get to as well. I wonder if where I went had inferior blanks as the whole job was a nightmare, they broke the car twice while they had it in. First bit I found was the vac pipe that runs from the servo down to the EGR. It has two smaller pipes that run off of it by #4 injector. They broke off the one that must go to the gearbox ecu as I could be out dragged from the lights by a fully loaded artic. Then I found that they had also broken both the sensor wires that come off #4 injector. The whole job was £350 but it cost him £280 to buy a new injector from bosch. I told them that if they identified what type of engine it was, a new injector from Vauxhall was only £85 on trade club. They decided to ignore my advice. Ha ha ha

General Car Chat / Headlight level sensors

I know that this is a very common problem on the omega. On mine, the arm keeps coming out of the sensor. As a try, I wrapped four turns of PTFE tape around the ball joint and so far, it hasnt dropped off for 5 months now. Thought I would share this in case any one else has a similar problem.  Keith B

i had  a B plate MG Montego years ago. Went well and had the silky smooth Honda gearbox in it. Electrics were a let down in the end. The Turbo,ed ones were very manic, would leave rubber at 85 mph in third

General Car Chat / Re: hail damage ..(large pictures warning)
« on: 28 November 2011, 12:50:14 »
We had a similar problem in Essex in the late 1980,s with a freak hail storm. many, many cars had to have there roof panels replaced as the damage was so bad. some even had front wings, bonnets and boot lids/ tailgates replaced, and then came along the famous Micheal Fish "no hurricane" warning. body shops had work backed up for six months without the normal crash repairs coming in. keith B

I have had the same problem with #6 keeps on blowing off. Never did it before I had the injectors done. went back 4 times to get it re done, in the end, he gave me a handful of the blanks as spares. Used them all up and got replacements from a very reputable diesel injection specialist. not had any prob for 4 months now (fingers crossed!!!!!) Keith B

Hi to all, i,m finally back on the internet after having a lightening strike in the street at the end of June! I met several of you at Billing on the ,Bahnstormers stand. Nice to put faces to names. I had sent some messages to some of you prior to the lightening strike, so unfortunatly, that is why I had never replied to you. unbelievable how much you miss having the inyernet, and I,m not a very big user of it, do my bits for the ,Bahnstormers and use this site for its usful info and part with anything I,ve come across. Thanks to all for your patiance and understanding.  Keith B

thanks to all for the welcome. gave mine a mop over to go to enfield pagent, looked quite nice. waiting still for an insurance payout for paintwork damage done by some ignorant painter who covered the car in white primer, pink primer and red gloss spots. they go well on a dark green pearlesent finish!! :- :(
